My Favourite Flight Attendant Youtuber
Kat Nesbitt
Kat is an American flight attendant, based in Dallas, Texas and her YouTube Channel is mainly focused on the lifestyle of her job, however she also has videos in the subgenre of her niche, e.g. she does amazon haul videos, ‘what’s in my work bag’, winter clothing haul, all relating to travel. Some of her older content consists of advice type videos such as ‘how to become a flight attendant’ & ‘everything you need to know’ before becoming one which is quite informative & useful for those who want to progress into this career.
Kat’s videos are full of chaos & unexpectedness through all the flight cancellations, medical emergencies onboard, weather disturbances, turbulence, bad hotel rooms etc, which is all very hectic but honest as it shows the actual reality of being a FA and the fact their job is not all sunshine & rainbows, which I admire.
One thing that’s extremely entertaining to witness is when Kat experiences culture shocks in different locations. An example is when she couldn’t find anything to eat when she had a layover in London because she unfortunately happened to arrive at the hotel on a Sunday evening, and had to learn the hard way about shops & restaurants in the UK closing early on Sundays. However, in her case it was a learning experience.
Another example is when she had a mental breakdown upon realising that plugs in the UK/Europe are very different to the ones back in the US so when she attempted to plug in her straightener to get her hair presentable for work the next morning, she was in for a shock and had to risk going to work with her hair looking like a lion's mane.
All in all, her channel is very broad and she has a bubbly, outgoing personality so in every video she makes, it feels like she’s conversing with her audience as if we’re all close friends, which is very comforting.
