Business - driven Portsmouth University Students are taking the initiative to start up their own hustles
In recent years, there has been an influx of student businesses operating across the country, particularly Portsmouth. Students are now using the skills and hobbies they have already mastered to start up their own ‘side hustles’, by providing services like hairstyling, nails, lashes, henna art, from the comfort of their own home. They are using their business as means of gaining some extra cash on the side, which is considerably beneficial for them as most of them do not have any guaranteed source of income other than student finance. And many people praise this initiative. However, others do not seem to be too fond this whole concept particularly the Prime minister, Rishi Sunak, who has now introduced a new ‘side hustle tax’, forcing all self employment income as low as £1,000 to be declared in attempt to prevent tax evasion
