What I Ate During My Vacation In Mexico (P1)
Updated: Dec 16, 2022
My time in Mexico was one of the best - yet worst - travel experiences I've ever had at the same time.
However, despite all the negatives, the great food definitely overshadowed the bad experience and made the long journey and high costs worthwhile.
The hotel I visited is called: Krystal Grand Punta Cancun. It had four restaurants, all of them representing different cuisines including: Japanese, Italian, Mexican and a Steakhouse with an outdoor grill.
Because the holiday was all inclusive, I had a wristband that granted me access to all the hotel restaurants.
Besides the four hotel restaurants, there is also a beach bar and grill, with waiters that serve food and drinks right to you, whilst you relax on your sunbed.
The variety included traditional Mexican dishes such as: nachos, tacos, burritos etc. as well as other fast-food options like burgers & fries.
Additionally, there is a drinks bar located on the side of the swimming pool. This bar is positioned in a way where guests can grab a drink whilst still being in the water by just swimming their way to the bar to quench their thirst.
The Mexican restaurant inside the hotel acted as a 3-in-1 by providing guests with a breakfast buffet in the morning, a lunch buffet in the afternoon and dinner buffet in the evening.
This was my personal favourite because there was a wide range of options to choose from, thus appealing to everyone.
The breakfast menu had almost everything I could possibly dream of from a whole bakery section with freshly baked bread & pastries to hot foods like beans (which a Brit like me obviously cannot resist), French toast, cinnamon rolls, hash browns, as well as a healthy section with fruits, yoghurts and cereals for those who wanted a quick, casual breakfast.
Read part 2 to find out more about what I ate at the other hotel restaurants.
